Winners of the 18th KAMERALNE LATO – who claimed the awards?

zwycięzcy Wysokich Lotów

The 18th International Film Meetings KAMERALNE LATO and the 4th FREEDOM Film Festival have come to an end. After a week filled with film screenings, workshops, and industry meetings, on July 12 we gathered at the Jan Kochanowski Popular Theatre in Radom to officially mark the closing of both events.

It was an evening brimming with emotion, as the winners of both festivals’ competitions were revealed. We also enjoyed a screening of a special action scene filmed on the streets of Radom, alongside impactful social campaigns created by participants of the TOGETHER and ABC OF WORKING WITH CAMERA workshops. Who took home the prizes? Who did the jury decide to honor? And which film stole the hearts of the audience?

HYDE PARK Jet Films Competition

The festival audience at PaTaThai Radom made their choice – this year’s Grand Prix of the HYDE PARK Jet Films Competition, along with a cash prize sponsored by the FILMFORUM Association, was awarded to the MIRABELKI Film Group for their brilliant film, PODBÓJ TERYTORIUM (CONQUEST OF TERRITORY). This clever blend of gangster cinema, horror, and comedy humorously explores the dynamics of power, violence, and survival. Although the winners were unable to attend the gala, they sent a special video message to express their gratitude.

National Youth Film Competition WYSOKIE LOTY

Małgorzata Imielska, Grzegorz Jach, Bodo Kox, and Wojciech Solarz awarded SKRZYDŁA (WINGS) – the Main Prize of the National Youth Film Competition WYSOKIE LOTY, accompanied by a cash prize funded by the FILMFORUM Association, to Łukasz Sosnowski and Szymon Szulakowski for NIEDALEKO PADA JABŁKO (THE APPLE DOESN’T FALL FAR). This moving production about confronting trauma and difficult emotions, wrapped in the conventions of the horror genre, was recognized for its brilliantly told story that keeps viewers on the edge from the first to the last scene. For artistic maturity and cinematic craft. For high flights – may they soar even higher.

An honorable mention was presented to Matylda Maciejewska for the animation ODWIEDZIŁ MNIE DZISIAJ WIELORYB (A WHALE VISITED ME TODAY). As the Jury emphasized, it’s a story everyone can relate to. It was recognized for its delicate artistry, thoughtful use of color, and a musical score that beautifully complements the story.

The Chief of Police Award for Promoting Social Values went to Dominika Dorszewska for her film CIEŃ (SHADOW). This powerful story of hope and the struggle against inner demons was honored for its message that even the darkest fears can be overcome – reminding us of the importance of seeing and supporting the people around us.

Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and our deepest gratitude to the filmmakers, the participants of the film education programs, our exceptional jury, expert panel, and dedicated festival team. KAMERALNE LATO wouldn’t be the same without your passion and commitment. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. We can’t wait to welcome you back next year!
